A wonderful journey through the Valle della Cupa, a captivating area that includes several villages west of Lecce, the capital of Salento.
This historically rich region was once chosen by Lecce’s nobility as a place of residence or vacation, thanks to its unique charm. The countryside, with its farmhouses and noble villas nestled in greenery, has preserved its allure for centuries. Visiting this area reveals an immense wealth of landscapes.
You’ll also enjoy a culinary experience featuring zero-kilometer local products in an historical Masseria called Agricola Taurino in the village of Squinzano.
Our tour will then take you to another gem of the Valle della Cupa: the Abbey of Santa Maria di Cerrate, one of the most splendid examples of Otranto Romanesque architecture, and a FAI heritage site for several years. A visit inside the abbey will be included. After this unmissable stop, you’ll resume your journey through the Salento countryside before returning to Lecce. An experience full of history, architecture, and breathtaking landscapes!
